TwinSisterMoon is the solo project of Mehdi Ameziane, one half of Natural Snow Buildings. It is beautifully textured ambient folk drone. Similar to Grouper, Pocahaunted, and Lau Nau. This release, Levels and Crossings was limited originally to 36 copies. Eventually, once people heard it and realized how good it was, more were released.

I have come to appreciate anything that Jason Pierce, aka J. Spaceman has touched. Formerly of Spacemen 3, and now of his solo project, Spiritualized, he does not fail to please. He also worked on the soundtrack for the Harmony Korine film Mister Lonely. Recently he did a collab with Matthew Shipp, a pianist. The collab beautifully titled Spaceshipp was realeased in late 2oo8 on the Treader label. It is a dense swirling mass of beautifully painted spaced out drone. Here it is:

I’m not in the mood to go in depth on this band. I recently just started listening to them and think they are quite good. Very much along the same lines as Times New Viking, a little more noise based though. Magic Flowers Droned by Psychedelic Horseshit.
Flashlight Party is a New Wave, Electronica, Post-Punk band from Gainesville, Florida. When you listen to this they do take a lot of their influence from bands such as Joy Division and New Order but it isn’t done so shitty that it makes a mockery of it. This album is addicting. The San Francisco duo Barn Owl has been described as a kind of time traveller’s palantir, a sort of seer’s stone for gazing into America’s colonial past. They make purposeful, and expansive psychedellic drone. The following is Bridge to the Clouds, their 2oo7 release.

A London, Ontario based noise band. Most of their instruments are either homemade or modifications. Alot of their material is improvised. It’s loud, and most times caucophonic. They have a fairly beefy discography. I enjoy listening to it while cleaning. I hope you enjoy it.

Formed in 2001, TEENAGE PANZERKORPS aka DER TPK split members between San Francisco and Berlin and Aachen, Germany. They gather semi-annually to record their primitive post-punk jams on cassette. (Taken from Last.fm)
This band is pretty…well…well they are just fucking rad. I’ve had this album on repeat for a while now, awesome riffs and who gives a fuck if you can or can’t understand the vox.
The pursuit of informing the unknowledgable public about great tunes, great films, great artists, and slitting unweary throats as we go. I’m not going to say this blog will be secular to any genre because it won’t be, you as the reader, will notice that there will be a wide range of genres spread through this. If knowledge of what will be posted is in thought, then here is a rough estimate to the masses.
